Adiyaman is considered one of the most important provinces in Turkey, especially when it comes to tourism. Located in the southeastern part of Turkey, in the central Euphrates river region, Adiyaman is also known to be the cradle of the oldest civilizations in history. During the Neolithic age, in 8000-7000 BC.C, the regions of Adiyaman, specifically Gritille, Hayaz, Samsat and Ancoz were the prime cultural centers. Because of this, Adiyaman is still home to plenty of relics, remnants and structures coming from the Hellenistic, Romanian and Byzantine era which are exhibited in the Adiyaman Museum.
