Buying property in Bulgaria
Now that Bulgaria has joined the EU the process of buying a property in Bulgaria will probably change, at the moment a non-Bulgarian national is not permitted to own a piece of land in Bulgaria. To purchase a property OR land in Bulgaria you will need to form a limited company that is allowed to own land and then make yourself the company director. This is a very straighforward process through a solicitor and should take around the 4 weeks mark and costing would be roughly €885 (£600) BUT if you buy an off-plan property or newly built apartment you will not have to do this, we do recommend checking though with your bulgarian property agent first.
Bulgaria is roughly 3 hours away from most UK airports, being such a popular place Wizz Air have started to fly there which will make the prices cheaper and cheaper. Bulgaria has of course been advertised everywhere over the last couple of years, it's entry level prices means that Bulgaria is unbeaten for value.
