Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur With it’s ideal location in South East France along the borders of Italy, nestled between the Mediterranean coastline and the Alps, is the ever fashionable region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur. Second only to Paris in terms of popularity, Provence-Alpes is everyone’s ideal vacation spot and place of leisure. While it has always been known as the premiere summer and winter destination by the jet setting crowd, Provence-Alpes has more to offer than just holiday pleasure.

Of course, it is a place of a thousand wondrous sights to see and explore: golden sandy beaches, craggy cliffs, and placid bays along its shores, lush vineyards and rolling hills on its countryside, and the majestic mountains of the Alps as a glorious backdrop to such beauty. It is no wonder that people continue to be enchanted by Provence-Alpes, attracting artists as well as tourists and would be residents. The rich and colorful landscape has been inspiration for famous painters like Van Gogh, Picasso and Renoir, whose works related to the region are on display in Provence-Alpes’ galleries.

There is much in Provence-Alpes to charm the visitor. The very Mediterranean town of Beausoleil looks out to nearby Monte Carlo and offers excellent modern facilities within its very traditional hillside villages. Cassis is a scenic old town, with its ancient streets and houses that glisten brightly, reflecting the blue of the ocean, in lovely contrast to the pink and gold cliffs that surround it. Flayosc sits on a hilltop of verdant green fields in medieval splendor, it’s ancient fortifications still visible. Brignoles brings the past to life, with its shady winding streets and it’s architecture, most prominent being the 13th century Chateau de Comptes de Provence turned into a museum, and the 12th century Romanesque doorway of its Eglise Saint Saveur.

Then too, there are the more renowned towns. Cannes is famous for its annual film festival that draws in both the glamorous celebrities and the swarm of paparazzi. St. Tropez, favorite among the jet setters, is a resort town full of indulgences. Nice is a very youthful and energetic town where one may find many new things to do and enjoy. The areas of the Riviera and Cote d’Azur have the best in seaside resorts to cater to all tastes and fancies.

Property prices remain high in Provence-Alpes, but as investments go, these are some of the most lucrative ones to be found anywhere in France. It is the second most expensive location, next to Paris. Studio apartment prices are at 130,000€ - 150,0004, villas can get as high as 1.5 million €. For homeowners and second home buyers, the allure of Provence-Alpes, and it’s long standing reputation as a year-long attraction, makes the price worth the promise of living a lifetime of holidays.
