Cozes is a sight of golden fields of wheat and sunflowers. La Rouchefoucald boasts of having one of the most impressive chateauxs in France. Loudun is a town with intriguing historical monuments yet offers all the modern conveniences to tourists and residents.

With the recent introduction of flights to Poitou Charentes by budget airlines, the region is becoming even more popular amongst would be second home buyers and holiday home owners. Prices of property are on the rise, but still reasonable, with inland properties cheaper than those along the coast. While not as glamorous as the southerly resorts of France, the coastline of Poitou Charentes offers a more relaxed and quiet alternative that makes it stand out.
