With a total land area of a little less than 15,000, Teruel is an average-sized province of Spain. Located in the central-eastern portion of the country, the province is included in the Aragon autonomous community. Because the geographic feature is in the middle of several provinces, Teruel is surrounded by Castellon, Zaragoza, Valencia, Guadalajara, Tarragona and Cuenca. Overall population is relatively lean at about 130,000 as of the latest head count. There are 236 municipalities. Half of those towns have population of just about 200 people. Being situated in the northern plain of the Maestrazgo and Javalombre mountain ranges, the prevailing weather is very ideal and preferred by local folk and tourists. Thus, agriculture in the province is very productive and yielding. Teruel is a principal producer of such crops and harvests like olives, cereals, grapes and almonds. Because the landscape and main terrain is uneven, there is a number of water reservoirs like lakes and other minor water bodies. Thus, almost all village in the province facilitates for fishing activity and leisure. Major rivers that flow into Teruel are Tajo, Mijares, Guadalaviar, Jucar and Jiloca. Trout is the most abundant and easily captured aquatic animal for food consumption in the province. Because there are mountain ranges that are found in the province, hunting has become a leisure activity. Local people and offshore tourists come to Terruel regularly throughout the year to unwind and have fun via hunting. The wilderness houses several wild animals like quail, wild boar, quail, hare, rabbit and red partridge. Because there are steep terrains, skiing has also become an important activity in the area. Currently, there are many ski resorts that are operating in the province. On the other hand, the arts is also given importance in Terueal. A historic artistic center is the municipality of Albarracin. Other towns worth checking out are Montalban, Alacaņiz, Calamocha and Aliaga. Teruel is regarded as a capital and center of the Madejar art. The San Martin, Calaceite and El Salvador are towns in the province that are revered and highly admired by tourists and vacationers. The whole of the town is a place where there are many buildings that show off fine and old architecture. Capital city of the province is also called Terueal. The month of July is the busiest in Teruel because parent when the La vaquilla del angel feast is celebrated. Every February, the Bodas de Isabel de Segura is a feast that catches the attention not just of Spain but also other significant cities and areas of the world. Real estate industry is very much alive and kicking, though the province is almost covered by rural settings.
