Sevilla information, Spain

Sevilla One of the most populous provinces in Spain is Sevilla. The province is located in the southern part of the country and is relatively situated in the western portion of the Andalusia autonomous region. Sevilla is surrounded by the Spanish provinces of Cordoba, Cadiz, Bajadoz, Malaga and Huelva. Total land area of the province stands at about 14,000 square kilometers. Overall population is at about 1.8 million. Around 40% of the inhabitants are situated in the capital while others are scattered around the other 104 municipalities of the province.

Not much is notable about the municipalities of the province, although the capital city of Sevilla is worth checking out by tourists. He city is not just the capital of the province. Interestingly, Sevilla city is also considered as a financial, cultural and artistic center in the whole of the southern region of Spain. The city is also the capital of the region of Andalusia, which is one of the outstanding regions of the country.

Sevilla city is an old one, having its establishment dated about 2,000 years ago. The occupation of several races and civilizations of the city for the centuries that passed has made the culture and architectural structure of the city unique. Sevilla city is known for its own personality and is considered a preserved center for history.

Sevilla’s cathedral is notable because the site used to be a ground for a former Muslim mosque, prior to the church’s establishment between 1401 and 1519. The old Moorish Palace in the city has transformed itself to become what is now known as the Alcazar, which is located in front of the Cathedral. An old watchtower is still visible, called Torre del Oro. The Town Hall sports a Neoclassical design in architecture.

Sevilla is among Europe’s warmest areas. Annual temperature average is at 18.6 degrees Celsius. The prevailing climate type is very much Mediterranean due to the weather influences of the nearby Mediterranean Sea. Winter peaks during the month of January, while summers are at hottest during the month of July, when average temperature goes as high as 35.5 degrees Celsius.

Holy Week is grandly commemorated in the province. Also during the month of April is the province-wide observance of the April fair or known as Sevilla Fair (in Spanish, La Feria de Sevilla). During such feasts, women dress in uniform flamenco dresses, while the men wear their best suits.

The province is strategically linked to other roads and provinces in the country through a high-speed railway called AVE. The railway is also directly connected to the capital city of Madrid. There is an international airport in the capital city that serves as an aviation entry point between the province and offshore destinations around the world. Thus, tourists can very easily enter Sevilla.

Property industry is holding a promise. In the coming years, it is expected that the real estate industry will boom. The active tourism is helping the property development sector bolster. If you are aiming to take a real estate investment in the country, now is the best time because price tags and valuation of land and property developments are still not too significant and expensive.
