Jaen information, Spain

Along the southern part of Spain could be located the province of Jaen. The province is surrounded by the other Spanish territories of Ciudad Real, Granada, Albacete and Cordoba. The total land area is more than 13,000 square kilometers and population as of the latest census data stands at about 650,000 people. Just about 15% of those people are living within the capital city of the province, which is also called Jaen. Overall, the province has 97 municipalities.

Jaen does not depend on tourism for a steady source of provincial income. That is because the province admittedly is not very popular among tourists. There are many historic and scenic spots across all of the country, but Jaen is not known to be containing even some of them. However, there are still sites that could potentially rouse the interests and curiosity of visitors. Particularly, the cities of Ubeda and Beeza are containing many old structures like churches and palaces that would definitely be worth checking out for. The two Renaissance cities have also been declared as among UNESCO’s Heritage of Humanity.

The province is very much popular for its trade and commodities. To beging with, Jaen is in the world records of being the biggest olive oil producer globally. The province not only supplies the olive oil requirements of the country. It also exports the healthy oil to many other parts of the world where demand for the product is very much high. Thus, expect that all throughout Jaen could be found lots of olive groves.

Jaen is also very supportive of various indoor sports activities like chess. As a matter of fact, the provincial government is proud to regularly sponsor a chess tournament called the Linares chess tournament. The event is held around February every single year. Many analysts and chess enthusiasts have labeled Jaen as the analogous ‘Wimbledon of chess’.

The nightlife in Jaen is starting to get noticed. That is because there are numerous bars and hangouts that are serving beer and tapa, a native food delicacy, to people. It is said that nightlife in Jaen is not as costly compared to nightlife in other parts of the world. But there is a difference, and that is, even if the excitement and thrills are of the same intensity, nights are more enjoyable in Jaen because of cheaper bills.

Jaen is a beautiful province. You would find that a large area of the province is still very much identified with the rural culture. But the cities and urban centers are very much indicative of the budding trend for modernization. Cities are starting to get crowded and more developed.

If you are looking for areas where you would easily and cheaply acquire real estate investments, perhaps, Jaen would be the province for you. You could easily get in touch with a property agent if you plan to purchase assets in Jaen. For sure, your property investment would never ever disappoint you. The rising industries also make establishing presence in the province potentially ideal and very much promising.
