Because of its geographical feature, which is characterized by mountain ranges of Toledo and Sierra Morena, mountain and outdoor adventures are ideal activities to be done. Hunting is one activity that many tourists are aiming to do during their visit to the province. The wilderness of Ciudad Real is very vast and naturally diverse that hunting within the woods and the mountains in the province is like going out in the old woods. There are still lots of wild animals that can be found freely roaming within the province's forests. Across the province can also be found a number of rivers. Those rivers facilitate many leisure and occupational activities. Fine fishing is one of the highlight activities aside from hunting. The Tablas de Daimiel and the Ruidera Lagoons are considered water bodies with great and intact ecological importance, which could be the source of more amusement, amazement and leisure activities. Ciudad Real is one of the biggest provinces in Spain in terms of overall land area. However, the population is not that large in relation to the huge land area. The province ranks at the 30th spot in the list of the country's provincial population. Ciudad Real has about half a million residents that are not equally scattered throughout the province. Still, most of the residents prefer to take residences in the urban centers, though the suburbs are still home to many Ciudad Real folk. The capital city of Ciudad Real is a historical site founded way back in the 13th century. The city was established by Alfonso X, a king or monarch from Toledo who ruled most of his life in the old Spanish territories of Leon, Castile and Galicia. Establishment of the city was part of King Alfonso's battle against the powerful Calatrava-based Military Order. Ciudad Real, the city, houses several historic monuments that include the Toledo Gate, the museum, the national monuments of San Pedro Church and the Gothic Cathedral. More historic landmarks and edifices can be found in the provincial cities of San Carlos del Valle, Villanueva de los Infantes and Almagro. The prevailing temperature in Ciudad Real is temperate with temperature ranging from 30°C to 35°C during the months of June to September. Rain is normally expected during April, May, and October to December. If you are aiming to do several outdoor activities in the province, a visit during the months not mentioned would be ideal. The real estate industry in Ciudad Real is fast becoming busier. There still a significant area of land that would need to be developed. The potential of those land parcels is high. Thus, it would be a wise investment if you would move to acquire property asset in the area. « Return to Ciudad Real |
