Because of the numerous historical features of Avila, the area has been attracting a rising number of tourists. That is because aside from the geographic location, there are a number of tourist attractions that is located and can be found in the area. Also in the southern area of the region are the summer vacation spots of Navas del Marques and Tierra de los Pinares. Avila is adjacent to the popular and thickly populated city of Madrid. That is why the region has been a popular destination for vacationers who mostly come from Madrid and other local cities. Foreign visitors are also frequenting Avila for a variety of reasons. As a part of Spain, the culture in Avila is influenced by the dominance of the Roman Catholic religion. Feasts of saints and church icons are normally celebrated with much merry-making and festivities, making the area much more interesting and exciting in the eyes of outsiders. Avila is very much popular because of several products and harvests associated with it. Apples and green beans are the usual agricultural products of the area. Other specialties and dishes like winter stew and the suckling pig. Charcoal grilled meats and lamb chops are also to die for.
