Avila information, Spain

If China has its great wall, Spain, one of the pioneer Western modern civilizations has Sierra de Gredos. The wall and many other features make the province or region of Avila truly historic. To date, Avila is known to be the highest and most above-elevated Spanish city or region above sea level. The historical value of the region to the vast and continuing saga of Spain's history can never be underestimated.

Because of the numerous historical features of Avila, the area has been attracting a rising number of tourists. You know how land and property valuation increases when an area is often visited by tourists. In the case of Avila, not only is its being a tourist destination influencing the high valuation of real estate within the region. The vast and natural characteristics of the area is more than enough to make real estate investors drool over owning a property in Avila.

Avila has a variety of climates that change throughout the entire year. That may not just be because of its geographical location. Basically, like most areas within Spain, Avila has a relatively cold climate. However, there are certain locations in the region that will tend to be colder or temperate. There are four basic divisions of Avila, based on the landscape and the prevailing climate. Sierra de Avila and La Paramera are located at the center of the region and is relatively higher in altitude. The areas are basically lying down on top of a granite plateau. Arevalo and La Morana are in flat lands, where production and harvesting of potatoes, grain and other agricultural crops is very much rampant.

Real estate is much more appealing and more expensive of course in the southern portion of the region. That is because aside from the geographic location, there are a number of tourist attractions that is located and can be found in the area. Also in the southern area of the region are the summer vacation spots of Navas del Marques and Tierra de los Pinares.

Avila is adjacent to the popular and thickly populated city of Madrid. That is why the region has been a popular destination for vacationers who mostly come from Madrid and other local cities. Foreign visitors are also frequenting Avila for a variety of reasons.

As a part of Spain, the culture in Avila is influenced by the dominance of the Roman Catholic religion. Feasts of saints and church icons are normally celebrated with much merry-making and festivities, making the area much more interesting and exciting in the eyes of outsiders.

Avila is very much popular because of several products and harvests associated with it. Apples and green beans are the usual agricultural products of the area. Other specialties and dishes like winter stew and the suckling pig. Charcoal grilled meats and lamb chops are also to die for. Thus, potential new residents of Avila are up to a very challenging and appetizing immersion to the dominant and unique Spanish culture.
