Salzburg The city of Salzburg is Austrias fourth largest city. It is also the capital city of the federal state of Salzburg. Salzburg is 300 kilometers away from the west of Vienna and approximately 150 kilometers away from the east of Germany and Munich. The “Old Town” is also called Alstadt. It is a home of many baroque churches and towers. This particular area is bordered by two smaller mountains. These two mountains are said to be the green lung of the city, they are the Kapunzinerberg and Monchsberg.

Transportation in Salzburg is not a burden at all. There are established train railways. There are frequent trains from east to west servicing Munich, Innsbruck, Vienna and Zurich with high speed services of ICE. During the seasons of spring and autumn, some alpine valleys have a dry and warm wind. During cold seasons Salzburg is a good place to ski. Many tourists come to Salzburg to enjoy skiing.
